The 2021-22 SEED GRANT APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW OPEN! Please read instructions and guidelines. Complete packages are due by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Grant Application Instructions:

  • A complete application packet must be submitted electronically to by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 to be considered.
  • Application packets must include the following.
    1. A completed SEF SEED Grant application form. All application information must be typed in the fillable-pdf form.
    2. A completed SEF SEED Recommendation form.
    3. Documentation of professional development activity. This is an additional attachment that includes both the description and cost of the professional development activity.
  • A SCPS Grant Approval Form with a copy of entire grant application packet must be sent to by November 30, 2021.

Professional development considerations:

  • Course/professional development request must take place in the current school year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022).
  • Course/professional development directly relates to job.
  • Course/professional development aligns with School Division initiatives.

SEED Grant Process:

The SEED grant program’s fundraising and review process are managed by the SEED Grant Committee. The SEED Grant Committee meets as needed to coordinate this program.

The SEED Committee will review applications and present their grant recipient recommendations to the SEF board for final approval before announcing grant recipients.

Evaluation Criteria:

The SEED Grant Committee will base their review on the following as it relates to the requested
professional development activity:

  • Relationship to applicant’s position
  • Relationship to professional development goals
  • Impact on students
  • Dissemination of learning
  • Support of the Division’s Strategic Plan
  • Recommendation letter
